Hi my name is rosa I resently too a std test at the er, but I m locted were The storm sandy hit so no doctors are open to read it to me, only 2 things came Up ( leukocyte esterase MODERATE* ) and ( Bacteria OCC* ), everything Else as I read the reference range is were its supose to be does that mean Something came out positive ?
Hi Leukocyte esterase is positive when there are pus cells in the urine tested (usually >5/LPF) with occasional bacteria. It does not surely indicate STD but there is a bit of bacterial infection and if hygeine is maintained then probably it will come out to be negative on the next testing, provided you are not suffering from the following symptoms : burning, fever with chills, frequent urination, lower abdominal pain. If these symptoms are present then you need to start an antibiotic
