Hi an thanks for the query,
what you describe is very compatible with a urinary tract infection. It would be interesting to know if you have recently had any unprotected sexual contact. This could a major risk factor for urinary urogenital tract infections. However, there are individuals that still have urinary tract infections which are not of sexual origin.
A urethral swab, culture and sensitivity tests are advisable. A urine analysis and culture is also important. Search for nitrites and leucocytes could be diagnostic of a urinary tract infection. proteins in the urine could indicate a kidney lesion and demand further investigations. Other tests like an HIV serology in case of unprotected sex, Chlamydia serology and tests for syphillis are advised. For now, its advised to have purely protected sex.
I however suggest you consult your primary care physician for a proper evaluation and management.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
