Hello.
Sorry this may be a little long. I am a 44 year old female. I have had a hysterectomy 4 years ago for prolapse resulting from a retro-verted uterus About 10 years ago I started feeling very fatigued. Prior to that I rode a push bike for an hour each morning, did weights several times a week, swam and had a very active job. It seemed to hit me almost over night. Starting with slight blurring of eyesight (eye exam clear) then fatigue, brain fog, weird sensations like wearing socks, patch of goosebumps on my left thigh and being either so heavy I could barely lift my legs or so light I felt as though I had to watch each step in case I flow away, I went from 54kg to 64kg in less than 6 months. All tests came back clear (including MRI for MS). I was DX with depression, put on Zoloft and sent on my way. The Zoloft made no difference, so I stopped and lent to live with it. Occasionally, I get fed up of it and go back to see a doctor, so far I have been DX with B12 deficiency (in safe zone but low) depression, chronic fatigue and Ross River.
About 6 years ago I started getting bloating, pains in stomach, constipation and everything else worse. Fed up with doctors, I did a bit of internet searching and decided on a gluten free diet which I followed for 5 years. It did make it all ease some what. About 1 year ago I went off the diet on a dietitians advice, nothing got worse so I continued eating gluten. I started pains in my right side about 6 months ago so I went to a new doctor a month ago after moving. Blood/faeces tests were all normal, including celiac, other than AST 54, ALT 113, GGT 82, cholesterol 5.9 (never had an issue before, I am vegetarian), platelets 452, and ESR 15 ( which is down from last one which was 30) My fasting glucose was 5.5 and my B12 was 328 ( up from 165) everything else was close to perfect. I was sent for an ultrasound of my liver, which found 'diffuse fatty infiltration throughout liver'. I used to drink about 2 glasses of scotch or southern comfort (don't like anything else) a day but have been a complete none drinker for almost two years, not even a toast! So new DX is IBS and fatty liver, see a dietiatian and try a gluten free diet again. Can you please give me some guidance on where to go from here. Any help would be amazing, thankyou.
