Breastfed Infant. Taken Mifecest Kit. Unable To Breastfeed. Is It Harmful?
to avoid unwanted pregnency my wife had taken Mifecest kit prescribed by the doctor. However after taking the misopristol tablets upto next 12 hours there was harding any bleeding. So doctor suggested to take another kit or else go for clean up by surgery. She is in her seventh week from last MP. Also we are having a baby boy who is 7 months old. Because of the medicine we had tried upto 48hrs to avoid breast feeding. But inbetween she had fed him 2/3 times for 2/3 mins after pumping. Now we were wating to go through the surgery. But from last one day the bleeding has started & it is flowing regularly with little pain. So my question is -
1. whether I can think that the medicine started its effect & its purpose is now succesful? 2. Is there any side effects for the baby after giving him little mother milk during that period?
Hi,
Thanks for writing to us.
If bleeding started then definitely medicine started its effect but 2weeks after medication you should consult a gynaecologist and get your ultrasonography done to rule out any retained product of conception.
Now there is no harm to your baby with this little amount of milk.
Good luck.
Take care.
