Brown Spotting At 7 Weeks Pregnancy, Back Pain. Normal?

Im diagnosed with PCOS and taking met till now. few weeks ago i found out that i am pregnant using HPT but the result is faint positive ( all my test were faint but getting a bit darker than the previous test) I went to consult an OB/Gy just to make sure .. I am indeed pregnant. Im 7 weeks pregnant today but right now im having this very dark brown spotting ... i dont have cramps but i do have back pains... im really worried that i might have m/c. is dark brown blood normal???

Hi,
Presence of any sort of bleeding during pregnancy is abnormal, except the implantation bleeding that sometimes occurs and in your case, this is not the time for it. Also, since you are continuing metformin, you can expect lesser risk of miscarriage. Perhaps there was a slight bleed and dark brown color indicates old bleeding. Avoid intercourse, lifting weights, take absolute bed rest and consult your obstetrician for advice. If the pregnancy is viable, you may need hormonal supplementation. Take care.
