Brown Spotting With Black Clots Before Periods. Should I Be Worried?

I am having brown spotting with a few dark brown almost black clots. I m due for my period any day now but this is not normal for me. My period is normally medium to heavy and using 3-4 tampons a day. This isn t even enought for a liner. What could it be? Should I be worried? Iv been off of my birth control for about 3months and have been having unprotected sex, but took a pregnancy test a couple weeks ago and it was negative

Hi Krissie,
Welcome to healthcare Magic!
You have stopped birth control pills three months back and now on unprotected sex means you are susceptible to get pregnant and the severe deviation from your normal pattern of menses-just spotting means you are pregnant unless proven otherwise.
Take a home pregnancy test on your urine sample and if still in doubt then you will need serum beta hCG test which is more sensitive for pregnancy.
Please get these investigations and if you like, inform me in a Fresh Query / Follow up Query for further fine tuned opinion.
Wish you a great health!
