Bruise In Knee After Falling From Horse, Fluid Developed, Pressure While Pressing. Treatment?
About 3 weeks ago my horse fell and my leg got smashed between the his and the ground. i have a large bruise making a circle outline from my knee to the middle of my thigh. In the last week a water fluid has developed within the bruise. I stand up it pools at the top of my knee, I lay down the elevate the leg and the fluid quickly move to the middle of my thigh, always staying with in the bruise. I have been to the doctor, she said just takes time. Been the Psychical Therapy, they have never seen it before but treat it like a deep bruise and start a deep massage. When they press hard on the fluid trying to work it out I feel a lot of pressure then a pop/tear in my skin like the fluid is trying to find somewhere else to go. What could this be? Will it really go away on its own or do I need to seach other treatment options?
Hi, From history it seems that you might have soft tissie injury with hematoma. As there is bruise and hematoma, chance of having infection is there. Go for one antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines course after consulting your doctor. If blood collection is more it may require drainage of old blood by needling or putting cut on the part. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day. Ok and take care.
