Bruised Knee Due To An Injury. How Can I Confirm If It Is Not A Dislocation?

I hit my knee against the corner of a wall and fell. I was in a lot of pain. It decided to stand up and heard my knee click. My knee has bruised immediately and the pain caused me to throw up. I can walk but when I sit down or straighten my leg I'm in a lot of pain. I'm pretty sure I haven't dislocated it as other than the bruising it looks just like normal

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

It is important that you get yourself first aid and take rest. Ideally you must consult an orthopedician to know if there is any suspicion of fracture, dislocation or ligamental injury. Fracture causes severe pain and swelling and dislocation doesnt allow one to move. There are clinical methods to examine the knee joint for dislocation but should not be attempted by untrained people as it may cause further injury.

Hope this helps
