Bruised Left Knee After A Fall. Have Swelling And Numbness. History Of Osteoarthritis. Any Suggestions?
Hi, I tripped and fell a couple of weeks ago. I bruised my left knee pretty badly and the was swelling for a couple of days. The knee is still quite sore if touched and the bruising seems to be still coming out. One spot on the knee is numb though and I'm not sure if that is worrisome r not. I also have osteoarthritis and a torn minescus in tht knee. Thanks!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello Thanks for posting your query. As your knee is still bruised and painful to touch even after couple of weeks of injury, you need an xray to rule out any bony injury. Numbness over one spot could be due to injury to superficial nerve fibres in that area. It will regenerate as the injury heals. I suggest you to get it evaluated by orthopaedic doctor for appropriate treatment. Hope this will help you Regards. Dr Saurabh gupta. Orthopaedic Surgeon.
