Bruising, Swelling In The Lower Back, V Area Above Buttocks. Pain In The Lower Back On Coughing. Cause?
Hello, I just noticed that i have what seems to look like bruising and swelling in the lower back the V area above the buttocks and also swelling on my left side of my back...I noticed this as i was just standing and felt one side of back much larger then the right. Also when I cough i feel lots of pain in lower back area....what can this be?
There are two likely possibilities for your symptoms:
1. Infection- it can lead to bruising, pain and swelling over the back. In addition, there may be fever and increased warmth over the affected area.
2. Small hematoma- blood collection in the soft tissue. This is more likely, if there is any injury of the affected area, or if you are taking any blood thinner medications.
An examination by a doctor can clarify the issue and help in planning treatment.
Wishing you good health,
