Bump On Back Of Throat, Painful. What It Could Be?
Hi, it s abit hard to explain. But I have like a ball at the back of my throat dangling by some skin. It s on the left hand side behind where my tonsils are and it used to go purple and when it did it hurt everytime I swallowed. It hasn t gone like that for a while, but it s been uncomfortable and a little bit painful since yesterday. Just wondering if anyone might have an idea of what it could be?

Seems like a part of your palatine tonsil or lymphoid elements at the posterior pharyngeal wall have enlarged and give pain when inflamed because of infection. The other causes can be: a hamartomatous polyp which can arise in the region of posterior tonsillar pillar, a benign soft tissue mass like leiomyoma (as you are saying it is pedunculated) arising from posterior pharyngeal wall. Mind it, all the conditions I have explained are benign. Do consult an ENT if the problem persists.
