Bump On Labia Majora That Hurts While Crossing The Legs

Please write your query hereI have a bump on my labia majora for 2, make that 3 days now, Doc. I've only noticed it yesterday when it began to hurt crossing my legs. I was not aware of it until yesterday. It's a size of a pea and it's a hard bump. It kind of remind me of a nipple. Can't sleep last night, so today, I did some hot compress on it and I popped it. White fluid came out and blood too. I thought the bump will be gone now but it did not. It's still hard, a bit small though, but it still hurts occassionally. I'm a teen and a virgin so we can conclude its not STD or something like that. How do I treat this? Should I continue the hot compress? Should I wait for a few more dayd for it to deflate? Is it something serious and/or deadly? Help.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely a bartholinitis or just a boil. For my patients with such condition i prescribe oral antibiotics and betadine ointment for local application. If abscess (collection of pus) is there then i do a small incision and drainage.I also recommend them to use intimate wash to normalize bacterial flora and there by decrease the chance of further infection.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Shailja Puri's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
A hard painful lump on the labia could be due to inflammation of the Bartholins gland.
Bartholins gland is a gland present at the junction of anterior two thirds and posterior one third of the labia majora.
It can get inflamed due to blockage of the duct of the gland.
The blockade leads to accumulation of secretions in the gland and superimposed infection.
You need to consult a gynecologist for clinical examination to confirm the diagnosis.
An antibiotic course would be sufficient to treat the infection.

Thanks and take care
