Bumped Head After Hitting Of 2 Years Old Baby

My 2 year old son fell and hit his head on the corner of his bed right above his right eye. I could tell by his cry that it was serious. He had a pretty good sized bump come up and a gash on his head. My husband held an ice pack on his head and the knot has went down quiet a bit. And we cleaned his gash out, put some neosporin and a big band aid on it. I was just curious as to how long I need to keep him awake after bumping his head??

if there is cut wound and large one better you get it stitched
he may need some immunisation also against tetanus
keep an watch on head ache and vomiting
if you suspect internal injury consult surgeon .get a check up and the care of the wound also
