Burning In The Knee After A Fall. No Fracture. Treatment?

Hello, I recently fell at work. I was on a step and my knee went out on me and I drove my right knee straight into the concrete. It has been a couple of weeks now and my knee seems fine. No broken bones and I can even kneel on it with no problems. But at night when I go to bed my leg wakes me up after several hours of sleep. It is burning so bad that I can barely rest. No position that I can get into seems to help until I stand up for awhile then the pain slowly dissipates. I am losing so much sleep. Any ideas ? I am 53 yr old male. I am about 340 pounds.I had a Chiropracter examine the leg and they made an adjustment on my knee. I feel fine until night when I lay down for awhile.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for posting your query.

If xrays shows no fracture , bruising might be soft tissue injury or ligament injury at knee.

I would suggest getting this evaluated by your orthopedician again for any ligament injury. You may get MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance.

Wishing you good health.
Regards.
