Burning In Upper Chest, Lower Throat After Taking Medicine Without Water. Drinking Water. Suggestions?
Hi, I just was laying in bed and realized I forgot to take a medication. Being half awake, I just took it without water. Now my upper chest has a burning feeling and my lower throat too. I am worried that the capsule broke open in my throat or before reaching my stomach. I'm drinking a lot of water which helps temporarily but then the burning comes back. What can I do? Should I be worried?
It can be because of ulceration in the food pipe because of bursting of capsule in the food pipe. Most common culprit is the doxy capsule. Take Sucralfate syp before meals along with Proton pump inhibitors and pro-kinetics.
