Burning Rash Around Waistline, Aggravates In Contact With Water, Applied Aloe, Cortisone, Balmex & Neosporin. What Can Be This ?

My 12 year old son has a burning rash around his waistline that only flares up in the lake and pool. I thought it may be his trunks, but have tried several different types with and without elastic waist. The burning is so severe after his swim that he cries. It takes several hours for the burning to seize. I have tried applying aloe (which made it burn worse), cortisone 10, balmex, vaseline, and neosporin . He says that it does not itch . Any suggestions of what this could be?

hi i had gone through your query and understand your concerns. i would come up with two possibilities for his condition .these include

1.the first one may be,ALLERGY

possible causes;

-contaminated water ( chemicals in the swimming pool water act as an irritant to the skin )

--physical factors like heat,cold,sun,exertion,pressure,vibrations.

2.second possibility is,FUNGAL INFECTION;local examination with woods's lamp may confirm the diagnosis

I hope this is helpful for you, thank you
