Burning Sensation After Urination, Severe Back Pain. No Help From OTC Azo. History Of Kidney Stones, Partial Hysterectomy, Endometriosis Etc. Advice

I have a burning sensation after my bladder is empty, severe back pain on both sides of mid back. When this started 5 days ago, I had the frequency issues but not anymore. I did take OTC Azo, but it did not help the burning at all. 3 years ago I did have kidney stones after being on the injectable drug that treated osteoporosis, but after 16 months on the drug and the issues my Dr at the time said to stop using it. I have had a partial hysterectomy, endomitriosis, fibroids and something else?? Dr said I was a mess in there, that was 7 years ago. I am 56 yrs old. Thanks

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Burning sensation after micturition ( urination) ,frequency of urination are characteristic features of urinary tract system stone.
In your case same symptoms are present .
However back pain on both side may be due to endometriosis or fibroid uterus, genital disease.
Azothromycin is a very good drug for U T I ,but ,if stone present than you will have to take treatment of stone.
If pain occurs due to stone i.e.stone (s ) moving from its position and want to come out.
Use alkalizer 30 ml three times in day for 5-7 days.
Lemon juice helps in calculi cases .
Consult a nephrologist and get his opinion .
Good luck.

Hello,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.

I think you may have either kidney or bladder infection.

Sometimes kidney or ureter stones also cause burning micturition with back pain.

As females have short urethra, they are more for urinary tract infection.
Please note the urine whether it is normal or blood containing or white coloured or dark coloured urine.

Is there any rashes in genital area.
You already had kidney stone before 3 years.

So you may have recurrence of kidney stones now.
Please do an ultrasound abdomen and pelvis.
If it show stones, treatment varies depends on size of stones.
Also do Urinalysis and culture to rule out infections.
In addition you need pelvic and abdominal examination to rule out any gynaecological cause.
Then consult a urologist.
Drink plenty of water .
Hope this helps.
Take care.
If any doubt, Please reply.

Regards,
Dr.Manjeth.
