Burning Sensation And Pain While Urination, Yellow Urine, High WBC. Done Blood Work And Urine Culture. What Can This Mean?

I have a daughter who gave birth 2 weeks ago today and went to the doctor yesterday and they did a lot of blood work and a urine culture due to her burning and pain when urinating also was running a 102 fever. The doctor put her on antibiotics, a bill to make her urine yellow and take the sting out and also a shot in her hip. Today he called and asked if there was any possible way she could be pregnant....well after just giving birth she is following the doctor instructions and has not done anything outside of dr orders. He stated that she had a rather high amount of white blood cells in her blood work and he was going to let it sit and culture more until Monday. He stated he was concerned. My question is why would he be concerned and should we?

Hello friend ..
Thanks for your query to Healthcare Magic ...

I read your concern and it seems that increased WBC is due to infections and that caused fever like symptoms ... You and doctor need not be concerned of high WBC as there is nothing to suspect pregnancy by WBC counts ., If Doctor is concerned of health then I would suggest you to do HCG test and could clear doubt.
Avoiding the occurrence of urinary tract infection is the key to reduce fever and WBC.
Antibiotics for a week will help to reduce infections.
Water will help to overcome UTI as it flushes out bacteria from the urinary system. So, drink as much water as possible.
Holding your urine will result in the increase of bacteria, which will further result in infection, so do not hold back your urine.
Practice good personal hygiene.
Take shower before and after sexual activity. This will reduce the chances of getting infection to a great extent.

You can ask me furthur if you have more queries ..
