Hello and welcome to HCM.
Thank you for your query.
All your symptoms are indeed related to a
urinary tract infection (UTI). There are two possible investigations that can report a urine infection. They are a simple urine analysis and a urine culture examination (takes 24-48 hours to report a result).
The urine culture examination is a more detailed investigation, and thus the time taken to report a result. This investigation provides a confirmation of an infection, the infection causing organism and the most suitable antibiotic that can be used to treat your condition.
If you do have an infection, this investigation cannot miss it. You should also know that consuming less amount of water can also result in a burning sensation before, during or even after urination. Thus I would recommend you to consume more amount of water through the day, gradually decreasing this amount and stopping at least 2 hours before you go to bed, to avoid nocturnal visits to the toilet.
You could also request your doctor to prescribe a
potassium chloride based solution which has helped many individuals, without the use of antibiotics. Also add cranberry juice to your regimen as this has also shown to have added benefits in UTI symptom relief.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications. I would gladly help you.
Best wishes.
