Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can A&D Ointment Along With Neosporin And Cortisone Be Used For Red Rashes On Chin?
My 2 and a half yr-old granddaughter has had a red bumpy rash on her chin below her mouth for about 3 weeks. I took her to her pediatrician about 2 weeks ago and he diagnosed dermatitis. i talked to him today as well. He thinks it is caused by irritation from some food. He said to put A & D + ointment only on it. He had previously told us to put a combination of A & D +, Neosporin and Cortisone ointment on it, which did not seem to help. Any ideas?
Repeated use of steroidointments should be avoided due to side effects such as wrinkled skin and hence your doctor has prescribed A&D ointment alone.Continue with the ointment. Moisturisers and sunscreen can be used on a daily basis.
Any allergy to food or fabric should be identified and the allergen should be removed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
