Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m 44 years old and started taking 25 mm of Synthroid since November. Although I never realized I had an underactive thyroid because I never really felt bad, I m not really feeling much different since I started. I ve read a lot of information on the web about maintaining a healthy thyroid and I m determined to fix this issue myself and get off the Synthroid as I don t like to take any medication at all. I ve been reading up on Actalin but I really don t want to take it WITH Synthroid either. I guess my first question is, can I fix this problem on my own by eating healthier foods that help and staying away from things that are bad for my thyroid? And if I try Actalin, can I take it without taking Synthroid? I have an apt with an Endocrinologist next month and will have a ton of questions but thought I would start here. Thank you advance!
People take supplements because they may feel tired or unexplained. Levoxyl, Synthroid, Unithroid and other prescription drugs used to treat thyroid. I do not recommend anyone take any of these supplements.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
