Can Actilax Be Taken For Constipation On A Regular Basis?

Ian about to take Actilax for the first time. I have terribly bad constipation and can not have a bowel movement for up to 4 days. My stool is then too hard and way to big to pass normally. My question is can I take this on a regular basis with no problems to my health. Thankyou

Hi,

Regular use of laxatives causes laxative dependence. This might be counterproductive in the long run. Instead, change your dietary habits, eat rich fiber diet, raw vegetables, green vegetables, milk, and papaya. Increase physical activity and take plentiful fluids and water. During lukewarm water as soon as you get up.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
