Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i just started taking adderall xr 30mg 4 days ago and have noticed some side effects. Ive had tight muscles, stomach cramps/bloating, (diarrhea for the first time today) my resting heartrate is 110-120, and after i brush my teeth and wash my face at night and i breath out through my mouth and leave it open i can hear a sound in my throat that goes with the rhythm of my heartbeat. your thoughts?
Adderall (amphetamine/ dextroamphetamine) can cause tachycardia (increase in heart rate) and palpitations (feeling the increased heart rate). I would assume the feeling in the throats in rhythm with heart beat to be related to palpitations. Adderall can also cause gastrointestinal disturbances. But it's not likely to cause muscle tightness but can be attributed to nervousness which is a common side effect. Most of the symptoms above may decrease over days or weeks. If the symptoms are intolerable, then would suggest you to consult your neurologist for further evaluation and subsequent change or reduction in dose of drugs.
