Can Alendronic Acid Tablets Be Taken Life Long?

My 86 year old Mum has been taking alendronic tablets now for over 3 years. I heard that you should not take them forever. Is it safe to stop them? She suffers with a lot of stomach cramps and has been prescribed Buscopan to help with this but a friend who also was taking alenronic acid and having stomach cramps stopped them and now has no stomach pain.

you have to stop them intermittently. take after food and with antacid like polycrol gel. it is safetostopthem and can reporttotreating doctor for a change in medication.can take less irritant tablet like tab crocin intermittently.
