Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have 3 tablets of .5mg alprazolam for use on long airplane trips. (from a prescription 7 yrs ago for travel ease) I am taking no meds other than multivitamin & calcium; age 66. Do you think the alprazolam will still be effective after 7 yrs?? Am leaving for Europe in 4 days. Was going to take 1/2 the night before, then 1 on flight. Each way. What do you think?? Jenni

Can Alprazolam Be Taken Before Taking A Flight?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It is unlikely that it would still be effective. In addition, taking Alprazolam drug after the age of 60 is not recommended. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Kathy Robinson
