How To Withdraw From Alprazolam?

Is there a problem taking 0.25mg of alprazolam and 25mg of trazodone for 1 week. i normally take 0.50mg of alprazolam, but am 5 days from new prescription. 0.25mg of alprazolam does not do the job for me. been on this drug for many years so am afraid to stop taking completely.

The two drugs together will cause increased sleepiness, possible dizziness and decreased respirations. However, the trazodone dose is very small. Many patients take 150 mg pm as a sleep aide with Trazodone. Alprazolam at a dose of .50 is also a very low dose. Any type of "withdrawal" should be minor and the idea of taking 1/2 of your alprazolam may not do the "trick" for you, but should keep you from discomfort of being without any at all. Then there is the query of why there are 5 days until fill if prescription being taken as prescribed.
