Can Althea Be Taken For PCOS?

i am diagnosed to have pcos last 2014 and havent take any meds for it.. i ve decided to take althea to regulate my menstration and maybe to cure the pcos.. is it a good choice of oral pill? and i experienced spotting few days after starting it.. is it normal?
