Can Amiodarone-200 And Eliquis-5 Cause Adverse Reactions When Diagnosed With Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation?

Diagnosed with Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation couple of days ago and prescribed Amiodarone 200mg and Eliquis 5mg twice daily. Postponed so far intake because very much afraid of adverse reactions. Although I feel healthy, my records show benign hypertensive hea rt d Season w/o congestive heart failure, PAD, right I iliac artery stenosis, carotid stenosis. I take Lotrel 5-20mg,Crestor 20mg, Zetia 5mg. Female 77years.

Hi,

You are right Amiodarone and Eliquis may have certain serious side effects. However, it's not always there, and sometimes the benefits of these drugs are clearly more than the possible risks. So we use it then.

Another thing is that we always monitor patients on such drugs with following regularly so that we can always stop the drug if anything was wrong. So I think if your doctor suggested it, you should take it. He might have discussed with you the possible side effects and plan ahead.
