Can Amoxicillin Be Given For Cold And Cough In A Toddler?

Hi..my daughter.she is 3 yrs old...she is suffering from cold n cough and ear pain..my dr suggested this amoxycillin syrup. Asthalin syrup. Atrax syrup. After giving this medicine..she is vomited... So i want to know that this amoxycillin syrup is suted for my child .this effect is common or not.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your 3 year old daughter have cold and cough which seems to be due to viral fever , upper respiratory tract infection , allergy and it could be due to poor and compromised immunity of body. I would suggest you to avoid intake of cold liquids. Well this is common in children to vomits after medicine . But if the condition persist then visit pediatrician once Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with ancacids . Doctor may also alter the dose or prescribe substitute .
