Can Amway Plant Protein Be Given To A Diabetic And Kidney Patient?

My friend is a diabetic and a kidney patient. He has not gone for dialysis yet. He is recovering from a recent attack suspected kidney problem. He is weak. Can i give him Amway plant protein based on RDA? I understand that only animal protein has fats and could lead to albumin in urine. Amway plant protein is plant based having soy, bean and wheat based. What is your advise.

Hello,
Protein is required for body and if we restrict the protein too much, body become too wek. In kidney disease, protein has to be restricted to around 0.5 g/kg ( eg: 50 kilo man require 25 gram protein maximum). Plant proteins are better over animal proteins. As long as you are keeping the limit, you may give plant protein. On his next hospital visit, he may discuss this with nephrologist and dietician
