Can Angioplasty Treat Narrowing Of Artery Caused By Calcium Deposits?

My blood pressure requires daily medications to kep it on track. It has caused 2 angina sessions and required me to visit a cardiologist in Victoria, B,C. He considered a stent procedure but did not follow through on this. \i beleive he may consider angioplasdty next. He discovered the heart aorta valve was not as bad as he first thought but the nearby artery is narrowed with calsium deposits.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Thank you for your question! Regarding your concern I recommend you to consult your coronary angiogram results to an interventional cardiologist, because if anginal episodes persist after a daily optimal medical treatment coronary problems should be treated by invasive route; whichever is appropriate for the patient (percutaneous angioplasty with stent implantation or CABG). Although their pitfalls calcified lesions can be treated by angioplasty; the decision is maid be the type of lesion topography, location, complexity, and their numbers. So you should consult first an invasive cardiologist.
Hope to have been of help to you.
