Can Aspirin And Xarelto Be Taken Together?

My husband is taking aspirin and Xarelto both. He has been taking aspirin for years and Xarelto for the last five days. Is it sensible to take both? He takes medication for high blood pressure, and it s controlled, magnesium because he sprained his ankle last week, a statin for cholesterol, and Avodart. He is 86 ears old and generally in good health. Yesterday and today he has felt punk and wonders if th problem could be the Xarelto. My email address is YYYY@YYYY .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Aspirin and Xarelto are both blood thinners.

Based on evidence studies taking aspirin with Xarelto can reduce heart attacks and heart complications.

So, yes he can take them both together without any worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
