Approx 65 y/o white male Pulse 70 breathing 18 previously diagnosed with malnutrition syndrome. c/o dizziness, demonstrating confusion= unable to find the right icon or docs on his computer that he used every day for years, feels strange. Wants to lie down. My concern is possible stroke or TIA? Give him aspirin?
I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. Yes aspirin can be given in your case if you are suspecting a stroke or TIA. The definitive contraindications to aspirin is hypersenstivity, Active bleeding, Reyes syndrome, Hypertensive emergency, advanced age( Use carefully). If you have any doubts you may begin with a ow dose aspirin and gradually increase it on followup.
