Can Augmentin Be Taken For Relieving Chest Congestion?

55 yr, female 150 lbs, 34 smoked a long time. I have been taking augmentin for about 6 days and I had a CT scan showing 1.8 CM middle lobe lung nodule that need to be biopsied. If I do have a malignancy would the augmentin negatively effect me of is it stopping me from have congestion. I am not congested although the nodule is slightly irregular. The augmentin is making my throat feel better though.
