Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am currently taking Augmentin perscribed for an ear infection. I normally have very light periods but currently I am bleeding extremely heavy, to the point I am bleeding through a super tampon in 30 minutes and I am not sure what to do. I was not sure if the Augmentin had any effect on this.
Hello, Thanks for choosing Healthcaremagic.com forum. I really appreciate your concern about the situation.
As a physician I want to comfort you that your excessive menstrual bleeding is not due to the consumption of Augmentin. So yo need not to worry about this and keep taking the medicines as prescribed.
However I also ant to tell you that this sudden type of increased menstrual flow might be due to any of the other factors including but not limited to Hormonal, Fibroid etc. So I would also like you to visit your gynecologist if the problem persist.
Hope that helps.Have a nice day.
Regards, Dr.Abhijeet
