Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
If i took catafast from tooth pain, can i take augmentin? I have tooth infection and I know that i need to see the dentist, but i have some augmentin left from last time and last time my gums were swollen it helpped..today it ook catafast, can i take augmentin now?
Welcome to Healthcaremagic. I read your question carefully and i understand your concern.
Augmentin is an antibiotic that is needed just if you have an infection. Catafast helps you to alleviate the pain. Avoid hot or cold foods since they may aggravate the pain. As a pain reliever helps also clove oil soaked in a cotton ball.
Augmentin itself doesn't help you alleviate the pain directly. But, if you have an infection and you take Antibiotic, the pain will gradually alleviate after the infection subsides. Anyway I recommend to see a dentist for more objective evaluation.
I hope my answer helped you and I wish to you a good health.
