Can Azithromycin Be Given For Persistent Fever In A Child?
Hi Doctor my Daughter (4.6 years) has fever since 5 days, last month she has detected tyhphoid of early stage then ihave given her dose of Taxim o forte 5days. Now from past 5 days she is again fever when she sleep in night or afternoon. I has done test of widal but its came negetive. kindly suggest can i give her now azithromycin as prescribed by our doctor.
Hi I just want to know other complaints of your child other than fever because your child can be suffering from malaria, Upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection Or simple viral cold despite child has treated for typhoid. Blood parameters and PS for malaria can give clear picture regarding diagnosis. If simple URTI then Azithromycin syrup is sufficiant but diagnosis is different then treat him accordingly..... Thank you.
