Can BP Medication Dosage Be Reduced When Their Levels Are Normal?
I have been on 5 mg twice after day of amlogard and 50mg twice a day of mataprolol (betaloc)for some years. On periodic checking I find my Bp to be in the normal range of 120/125 80/85. I am 70 years old with no other health problem and read regular life with 4 kms walk atleast 4 to 5 days a week. Can I reduce my medicine dosage?

Can BP Medication Dosage Be Reduced When Their Levels Are Normal?
Hi welcome to HCM... It is very nice to see that you are very much consious about health and taking regular drugs for hypertension.... Let me explain you maintain your healthy life style with regular exercises. .... Don t stop antihypertensive drugs or reduce dosage without examination by physician ... Here if your blood pressure remain in normal limit than we can reduce dose of drug or you can be on one drug instead of two drug.... Take low salt diet . Consult physician for examination and discuss with him for shifting on one drug.... Take care ... Hope your concern solved ....
