Can Bactrim DS Be Taken After Consuming Wine?
Hi. I am healthy 85 year old mLE with a minor toe nail infection, and Bactrim DS has been prescribed. I usually have no adverse reactions to antibiotics, but the list with this drug is scary. Do you think I will suffer bad reactions? What if I have 1 glass of wine or beer with Dinner? Bill

Sorry to start with this word. NEVER.
Never ever mix antibiotics with alcohol. you'll end up with the most undesired side effects of bloating nausea diarrhoea and all kinds of stomach upsets. Bactrim is usually prescribed for a period of 5-10 days. Either refrian from alcohol during this period or consume alcohol in small amounts atleast 4-5 hours before or after taking the tablet.
Being a teetotaller, I'd suggest you to refrain.
