Can Benadryl Be Taken For Insomnia Caused By Librium Intake?
I have just recently started taking Librium and am having much difficulty sleeping at night. Can I take an OTC item like Benadryl with it to help me sleep? Or would it be better to ask my doctor to prescribe something like Lunesta or Ambien? I am very surprised to be having this problem because I thought that Librium caused drowsiness/sleepiness......not the opposite! Thank you.
Benadryl is not used for this purpose. Other safer drugs are available. Librium is also a good medicine for loss of sleep. It also helps. You can ask your doctor for zolpidem which is a better alternative to Librium unresponsive patients. Advice 1. Continue Librium as suggested 2. Do not use Benadryl for sleep problem 3. Zolpidem per oral at bed time for 30 days if you do not respond to Librium 4. Start workout in gym at least half an hour in a day for 5 days in a week 5. Do meditation 6. Avoid smoking, coffee and alcohol especially in night Zolpidem and Librium should not be taken for long time as both have habit forming property. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thanks
