Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yes, thank you. I m a 74 y.o. cyclist with history of 3 MI s. I take benedryl for cardiac-med induced rash (best guess) but I fear it adds to my tiredness and exercise capacity. Am I on track with the hypothesis that the extra tiredness is a function of benedryl (over and above age & Cardiac EF). I am also a Certified Spinning Instructor
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have excessive tiredness . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like low blood sugar or iron , hormonal imbalance , sleeping apnea , anxiety and stress . But in your case the symtoms are probably due to side effects of medicine like benadryl as you mention in query .
I would suggest you to drink plenty of water , take healthy diet including fresh fruits . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination and discuss about side effects . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . For now do light exercises like brisk walk and yoga daily .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
