Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 46, a non smoker and never smoked. I have AF and waiting on a ablation. Recently I have been suffering from dizzy spells and chest pains. A stay in hospital last weekend with ECGs proved inconclusive as my heart rate was normal. It has been normal since the dizzy spells started. Also six weeks ago I had a massive pain in my chest but it went away after an hour and because my heart rate was normal I didn t call an ambulance. I was prescribed some beta lockers on Sunday which I have now stopped as I couldn t stand up properly due to acute dizziness. I am still experiencing the dizziness and it s affecting my life. I have also has a pain in my chest for days now. Not too painful. It feels like a child is sitting on my chest and score it 3 out of 10. Heart rate normal. But never the less, it s chest pain. I m not taking any medication until the dizziness goes. My GP suggested I start another beta blocker but I feel he is clutching at straws. What do you think it is? I have a busy, stressful life with an important job and four children. And I need to get better. Thank you in advance. Joanna

Can Beta Blocker Help Relieve Dizziness?
Hi, Why can’t you get a cardiologist opinion. A stress test and an Echo will help us rule out any heart conditions. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
