Hello Dear. Atrovent inhaler contains ipratropium ingredient which is used to control and prevent symptoms (wheezing and shortness of breath) caused by ongoing lung disease. It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways so that they open up and you can breathe more easily. Breo Ellipta inhalation powder contains a combination of fluticasone and vilanterol. Fluticasone is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Vilanterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing. Since breo contains steroids it is not good to take it on a long term basis. For short term, acute episodes it is very useful. But long term steroid intake will cause side effects.
