Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am currently taking 6mg of Budesonide every morning at 6:30 am. Unfortunately it causes nausea, so I am taking Prevacid once a day in the evening before bedtime. Can I take these drugs at the same time? If not, should I be taking Prevacid before the Budesonide?
It is safe to take both of these drugs, though Prevacid may decrease the absorption of Budesonide by reducing stomach acidity. Splitting them up in the morning and evening like you have been doing should decrease this interaction, but if you wanted to take them both at close to the same time, I would suggest taking the Budesonide, waiting a few hours, and then taking the Prevacid to make sure the Prevacid doesn't interfere with absorption.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Aaron Branch,
