Can Buscopan Be Given For Stomach Ache In A Child?

Hi I am Reina, would like to know if my 8yrs old boy can take a buscopan tablet, he has stomach ache due to dehydration and after doing strenious running he had 1 slice of ham pizza afterwards and 2 weeks ago I bought a frozen ham pizza that was thowed out 3hrs outside freezer and then I put it back in freezer again and yesterday I got it out and put it in the oven and he had just one slice and not long after he was vomiting a lot. So up until now he can not hold his food, he feels like sleeping and having a bit of hydrolized drinks and zips of water and complaining of stomach ache. What can I do?

Hello,

I do not recommend to give him Buscopan as long as the right diagnosis is not determined.

I think he might have gastroenteritis most probably alimentary poisoning. Should start intravenous fluids replacement therapy as he is going dehydrated.

Better send to ER for immediate evaluation and treatment. Do not give Buscopan. Only plain water with oral rehydration salts until you send to the hospital.
