Can CBD-oil Be Taken During Chemotherapy?

Hello! My husband has had pancreas cancer for a year. I has got chemotherapy, Abraxane-Gemzar and has also taken cbd-oil. Now the tumor has grown and the new chemo is Oxaliplatin-Fluorouracil. Is it safe to take the cbd-oil or can the cbd have a negative impact on the chemo?

Hi.
I can understand your concerns for your beloved husband.

It is not safe to take CBD-oil while on chemotherapy.

CBD-oil may cause liver problems, and using it with other medications that can also affect the liver such as Oxaliplatin may increase that risk.

You should consult his doctor immediately if your husband develops fever, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and yellowish discoloration of the skin or eyes, as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage.

You can safely take CBD oil along with your chemotherapy drugs. It will not worsen your condition or interact with your chemotherapy agents.
