I was checking to see if there are any contrandications with Celebrex 200mg capsules and methadone 10 mg tablets. I am 66 yrs old and when dr perscribed the methadone as opposed to the vicodin that I did not want to take 10 Plus years ago I did not know what he was giving me or I would NEVER have taken the first one. I assumed that it was like an anti inflammatory med like a dummy instead of asking. Well with all the uproar on opiates which I now am better versed in, both me and the Dr are trying to get me off these methadone and with fibromyalsia in high gear this time of year it is a very difficult project I have taken on but one i feel is a must! I do not know the best way to cut down on the meth but we went from 240 to 180 all at once and after only a month he wanted to go to 120 and I said OH NO, that is not going to happen in dead of winter but will happen in spring so I am trying to find something else that can help me with pain instead of opiates. The Lyrica for fibro made me swell and not good reaction so now I am going to try celebrex but want to know kind of what to expect if anything. I hate medications and never ever touched any kind of drugs or meds in my life so I am pretty naieve in the medical realm. I do know however, I want to cut down to very few or none on methadone. My eldest son had a car wreck back then and the same dr who is now deceased put my son on the methadone for his severe pain in back, legs, etc. They pinned him back together with metal rods inside so between the L4 L5 L6 problems he also has to deal with rods in the legs and very hard to walk with the pain he suffers. We are both trying to find alternatives to this methadone and hoping this works.
