Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on cerazette since April. Since then I have had thrush on at least 4 occasions and I had never experienced thrush prior to starting to take this contraception. I also feel like I m really swollen and sore constantly and have gained 2 stone at least. Should I stop taking this contraception?
Hi, Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. As per history, Please find my advice below-: 1)As it is a newer contraception so chance of thrush due to it can not be possible. 2)If body immunity is low thrush will be again and again 3)Taking higher antibiotics for no reason ,if you are taking any antibiotics take probiotics lactobacillus caps three times a day upto min 7 days. 4)use loose dry garments and change regularly to prevent recurrence of infection. 5)you can take Butoconazole 2% 5 gm intravaginaly for 3 nights. and fluconazole orally. 6)Check PH of vaginal fluid at home in Nitrzine paper.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best. Thanks,
