Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can Chondroitin-Glucosamine And Lisinopril Be Taken Together?
My DOB is 2-17-1950 I am currently taking Linsinopril, labetalol, and advortastatin for an aortic dissection that occurred 3 years ago this past March. I have recently injured my back and wonder whether or not I can take glucosamine chondrontin without interaction or effect on my prior circumstance. I have had no other problems and I believe that the injury is just a strained muscle as I have had no lifting or straining of any kind. This morning I was fine and near normal after a nights rest. On both occasions, yesterday and this afternoon I was bending over when I had extreme pain and was nearly unable to stand.
Hello and Welcome to Ask a Doctor service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pain due to injury (Musculoskeletal) can be best managed with simple NSAID (Nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drug) but in my opinion any pain medicine needs to be taken in sever pain only, if you have some cardiac disease (valvular heart disease ) then it is important to avoid taking nonindicated medicine like Glucosamine and other, any injury takes some time for healing because it is the natures procedure, even without the analgesic medicine injury heals better.
Hope I have answered your query, Let me know for further help.
