Can Cipro Be Taken While Suffering From Peripheral Neuropathy?

I have a urinary tract infection and was prescribed Cipro. I have peripheral neuropathy and the information I got along with the drug stated that Cipro should not be used with this condition. I took six 500 mg pills, but I am afraid to continue. My doctor does not seem to think there is any risk. What do you think? Marie R.

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

If I were your doctor, I would change your antibiotic because this is a known side effect and may adversely affect your condition. You should ask for an alternative antibiotic according to your culture sensitivity report.

Take care
